Spider Lollipop Treats

With my favorite holiday right around the corner, I just had to make one of the crafts I recently found on my Disney Family Fun craft app for my IPad. I tweaked it just a little bit, but my son just had a blast making it, and has actually for once not fought me to eat a lollipop. This is a great craft to do at a kids Halloween party, for your kid's class, or to do with your kids and pass out on Halloween night to all the trick or treaters. So get your bag of dum dums or tootsie pops ready and get to crafting! Materials: 1 round lollipop black tempera paint (non toxic) 4 black pipe cleaners 2 googly eyes glue Take your 4 pipe cleaners and lay them side by side. Place the lollipop in the center of the pipe cleaners, with the first one flush against the lollipop. Wrap the pipe cleaners around the lollipop stick two times, ending with four "legs" sticking out of each side. Bend the pipe cleaners so that they resemble spider legs. Paint the lollipop wrapper and exposed stick with the black paint. Let dry Once dry, glue the googly eyes onto the lollipop wrapper, and you now have an adorable spider that even my kid won't eat.

Picture Puzzle DIY Craft

I don't know about the rest of you, but my son has become crazy about puzzles...especially when it's of something he loves.  So this is a great way for you and your children to make your own puzzles cheaply and with some great images as well.

Supplies:
Print out on letter sized paper (8 1/2" x 11") any photo you want (can be a family photo, a coloring book page off a website, a picture from a magazine...go crazy!)
8 1/2" x 11" piece of cardboard
Glue
Markers
Safety scissors

What to do:
Glue your photo onto the cardboard piece, making sure to spread the glue out evenly to get a solid connection.
On the back of the cardboard draw puzzle lines.  Make them as big or as small as you'd like, the more wavy and creative the more it will stimulate your child's mind.
Once the glue has dried, cut out your pieces along the lines you drew.
Flip it over, and your puzzle is ready to be reassembled over and over.

All About Me Scrapbook

I am the first to admit I have a scrapbooking addiction. I am also the first to say I have had absolutely no time to work on my beloved scrapbooking, so I have piles of pre-arranged pages just waiting to be assembled dating back to my pregnancy (and as you all know, my son is now 3).  Yet, even though Connor has yet to watch me scrapbook, he has found my mounds of papers and stickers which he constantly is bugging me to let him use.  So I decided to let him start his own little scrapbook (mind you, he's not touching all my fancy papers and stickers!) with pictures of things he loves.  It's any easy project that they can do often, such as making it a monthly family craft where at the end of the year you can compile them together to make a year in review book.

Here's what you need:
Construction paper
Decorative paper (could be plain white, stamped, decorative, your choice)
Glue
Hole punch
Ribbon or yarn
Pictures of family, things they love, etc
Crayons, markers, stickers, glitter, and anything else they want to use to decorate

Here's what to do:
Glue decorative paper onto the construction paper, making sure the construction paper shows off the sides (you can glue it covering most the construction paper, or just parts).
Punch three holes down the side of each sheet and then tie ribbon or yarn thru the holes to bind the pages together
Glue pictures and photos onto the decorative paper
Now decorate with markers, crayons, stickers, etc
Let your child's imagination run wild, and let them put whatever they want down.  Remember this is a reflection of themselves, and will give you something to cherish as they get older.
